About Me
Biography
My name is Zoey Zachek and I am a Communications and Photography student based in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I am a fourth year student at Concordia College - Moorhead where I also serve as the on-campus photography intern! Originally from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, I have always grown up with a love of photography. The fact that the camera is the most accurate thing to recreate human vision and thus the human experience is why photography is so special to me.
When I'm not taking pictures, I'm typically singing, listening to music, or spending time with friends. On campus I sing in the Concordia Choir, Vocal Jazz, Harmonia, I participate in Orientation and Homecoming. I am heavily involved with the arts and would love to incorporate my experience with music ensembles into my future work as a photographer.
My Work
As the photography intern for Concordia College - Moorhead, much of my work is based around events and headshots. I enjoy this line of work throughly because capturing the excitement and fun of being a college student is a feel good experience all around! Plus, I know that these pictures will be cherished by both the college and the students alike for years to come.
My personal projects related to photography are mainly portrait based. I appreciate the complexity of human emotion and the human experience and I enjoy the challenge of portraying a story through a stand-still image.
I aspire to continue working at either another higher-ed institution or a theatre/other performing arts space. Other than photography, music and theatre are absolutely my biggest passions in life so to be able to work in a space where I can be surrounded by both would be the dream!
